On the morning of October 24, Thomas Stone, President of Institute of Technology Tallaght, together with Pat Coman, Minister of Development, and the other two members visited our university. Fan Suhua, President of Shandong Women’s University, and Su Jianpei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, received the visitors. Officials in charge of the Office of International Exchange and Communication, the School of Economics and Management and the School of Tourism attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Fan Suhua extended warm welcome to visitors from Institute of Technology Tallaght on behalf of our university and briefly introduced to visitors some basic information of our university, including its history, subject setting, characteristic of school running, teaching and scientific research, students management and international communications. Thomas Stone expressed his thanks for the warm reception of our university and also introduced some basic information of Institute of Technology of Tallaght, including its teaching and scientific research. Later, the two parties had in-depth communications over issues of teachers’ training projects, students exchange projects and so on. After the meeting, the two parties signed the memorandum of cooperation.
Established in 1991, Institute of Technology Tallaght is the only institute of higher education of the South Dublin in Ireland. The institute offers globally acknowledged courses of many majors for full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students, including Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Marketing, International Hotel, Hotel Management and Social Security. Before this visit, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Su Jianpei, led a delegation to visit Institute of Technology Tallaght in September, 2016.(Li Xiaoqin)
